Nutricost Dangerous Unlisted Ingredient Ignoring Another Customer Inquiry
Hello, I recently purchased 240 capsules of Nutricost Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin at 2,000 mcg (delivered days ago, shipped and ordered via Amazon, sold by esupplements, as the vendor). I wanted to ask if there is any Carrageenan in this product. I realize it was not listed on the product label and/or description, but a customer review revealed they actually contacted staff at Nutricost and were told Carrageenan is an unlisted ingredient. The Amazon customer review further discloses they were informed by Nutricost that they would immediately list the undisclosed additive contained within this product, yet failed to follow through despite ample time and the inherent danger to customers unknowingly ingesting it. I’m rather new to taking extensive supplements and I feel rather unsafe, as I don’t know what to believe. I thought legally all ingredients had to be listed, even at the most basic level, simply to keep customers safe and protect the companies from legal ramifications and bad press (financial harm). Could you please help me understand this a bit more clearly? I definitely don’t want to ingest a product with unlisted ingredients, in this case, at a minimum, Carrageenan, as I’m trying to better my health. I’ve contacted the vendor eSupplements, Amazon, and obviously Nutricost about this matter, as of today. If Amazon keeps this product for sale, I implore them to post an immediate and highly visible warning to protect themselves and their customers from potential liability. I also caution to investigate the entire Nutricost line of supplements sold, as other potential legal ramifications are highly probable. Subsequently if this company maintains a pervasive disregard for truthful and complete ingredient listings on one product, why would they hesitate to repeat that behavior across the product line? Nutricost should have immediately responded to previous customer concerns, they should also answer their vendor eSupplements, and to Amazon, as they are risking all three businesses and their reputations for trustworthy health product sales. Customers must know the complete and accurate list of ingredients prior to ingesting these products, as we have a right to know exactly what is placed inside our bodies , so we can each make a responsible choice. It is 2021 and nobody should have to feel so unsafe trying to honestly navigate our own health.

Using my bloodwork as a gauge, I’ve been varying the amounts of B12 I consume from 500mcg up to 5000mcg and I’ve round ~1800-2200mcg to be the “sweet spot” for myself since I’m borderline anemic. What I would then do is either take a partial serving or extra serving of other brands to get into my desired range. If I couldn’t do that I would take one every other day. But ideally the right approach would be to consume a properly metered ~2000mcg daily.The Nutricost B12 2000mcg fits right into my desired range and after having used it for weeks now with follow up blood work, it is getting me right where I want to be along with a flexitarian diet.5/5

Rip off company
This is the eighth time I bought these vitamin B12 capsules, but this time the capsules are so thin many of them tore open and the powder is all inside of the container. And I just discovered that I cannot return them you cannot return them. So I called the manufacturer and they’re so busy that they can’t take your phone call or return your call. Beware of this company. Nutricost. Evidently someone bought them or they’re going out of business and they’re pulling a scam on customers.

The Same, But Different?
Worried! They have changed the size of the pills while saying they still have the same amount and now are pink whereas for years I’ve been buying it and it was white, larger pills, and larger bottle. Almost thought they’d messed up because the bottle was 1/2 the size it has been supposedly for the same amount. Until this is cleared up and I’ve used it long enough, I’m not going to take a chance. There’s a picture at the top someone posted that shows exactly the difference in just one month between how they have been and how they are now. I didn’t dock it any points, but it’s worrisome.

My B12 went up 500 in just 1 1/2 months on this vitamin!
I know everyone’s body is different but B12 has always been an issue for me. My Dr had me on a RX and at some point I got sick on it and had to stop taking it. Some people’s body can’t handle vitamins. Recently I had a virus and had it checked again in April and May. A different Dr suggested B12 again. I bought this brand and started it June 3 and look at the numbers just a month and half later. I was suprised the difference in such a short period of time and it not be and RX. You hear about fillers sometime in OTC vitamins

I had low B12 according to my bloodwork (about a 400-rating) and my doctor suggested some dietary changes as well as taking about 2000mcg of B12 supplements a day.So, I researched some options out there and settled on these – and I have to say they do seem to do the trick.After about six weeks I had my bloodwork re-done and my B12 rating had doubled from 400 to 800 (which is considered a normal value).I’m still taking them and can’t see any reason to stop.I just with they’d taste better but all in all that’s a pretty easy thing to see past.

This really works
My B12 levels have always been crap, and my doctor finally told me what to take to get those numbers up to help with my energy. Now, when my blood gets drawn, I’m so far over where my numbers need to be that I have no chance at having low numbers again. I actually had to take it down to every other day to make my levels normal. I do feel an increase in energy and I feel better overall. The energy isn’t crazy, even when my numbers were high, and I wasn’t jittery. This is a good product.

I’ve bought these twice now. I won’t buy them again though. Though they are in a capsule that makes them slippery when swallowed, they’re just too big for my comfort. Its not so much a horrible fault. Wonder what the ratio is between people who take big pills and gag on them? I do. I have to swallow 16 big white chalky pills EVERY DAY! And struggle, and I cannot live without these pills, or move to getting a pic-u and start dialysis. This is why I take B12, and other pills/vitamins. Rare autoimmune disease kidneys don’t filter toxins. So I have a chronic anemia. These pills worked though. I took one capsule a day, and my follow up back in May 2021, my Nephro told me to back off on them because my b12 levels were TOO high.I know when my b12 is dropping, because I get painful ulcers in my mouth. Can’t even eat ketchup when those fire up. A couple days with one capsule, and they go away.The other reason I won’t buy them again, is there’s a weird flavor, like stale-ish kind. I”m not saying they are, but being a big pill and a funny taste, just strike two. Don’t need a third strike. BUT THEY WORK. I prefer those little pink pills, and I always keep the sublingual kind on hand to help with relieve the mouth sores.

It definitely works! My serum b12 in December was 421 pg/ml and then with other b12 supplements it was 582 pg/ml in March. After testing in March I switched to this one and tested again a month later in April and it was up to 914 pg/ml! I do think that it’s also helping with insect bites. I take folate as well so it could be folate but, I notice a very clear difference between when I take the supplement and when I don’t when it concerns bug bites. When I don’t take them or use any bug spray, I get dozens of bites in minutes and they are very itchy and welts. When I take the supplements, I barely get any bites at all! Even if I lower my dose one day, I’ll always take it just for that!

Really effected my mood.
I’m not sure if it’s product related or that I got it online, but I noticed a huge difference in my mood for the (2) two weeks I took this. I was irritable all the time and could not get out of it which is out of the norm. I stopped taking it and felt back to myself by the end of the day.

My Favorite B12 (I’ve Tried Many)
I have been a vegan for 10 years and one of the things that must be supplemented in my diet it b12. I’ve tried many b12s and this one is my favorite to take. Really good value. I’ve gotten bloodwork done while on it and they said I had too much b12! Which really is surprising but not totally since I take more than the recommended dose, and from what I’ve read, it’s not a bad thing for women in particular to have more b12 in their system than men. But if this is a concern, just be safe and take the recommended dose.

A Powdered Capsule Version of Methylcobalamin
This B12 vitamin isn’t the sublingual type of pill that is usually used. This is a capsule. Does it make a difference? I don’t know. But it was a good price and is the effective type of B12.
