Sorry for the dramatic headline. I have bought and have had tested 4 or 5 brands, and heavy metals seem to be an issue. NOT SO WITH TERRASOUL turmeric.So, here are the positives:1) Fresh (received early Feb 2023 and expires in 2025)2) organic, raw, non gmo, vegan3) the true color as it should be4) tastes fantastic5) 3-5% cucurmin according to T’soul6) absolutely tested for heavy metals and results available from T’soul7) a 1 lb bag should last several months8) may help with pain and inflammation (no personal anecdotes on that)9) Terrasoul is a trusted and well documented brandSo here are the negatives:1) still thinking………For those of you worried about lead, arsenic ets, know that this is tested, and just like anything else you eat, don’t overconsume. I use about 1/4-1/2 teaspoon on average a day, depending on what I’m cooking. I wouldn’t suggest eating a cup a day. Very clean, fine & nice orange color powder while some turmarics have black pepper kind of particles inside. No side effect after a day. (I usually try a spoonful of powder without mixing with something else for taste test. By doing that some turmeric powder seemed to cause mouse ulcer next day. Some turmeric product don’t, so I know it’s not about my allergic reaction to turmeric itself.) To compare with other turmeric products I’ve tried before, this is the mildest. I do not know if this is good point or not. I wish they put ‘curcumin content’ percentage on the package in the future even though it is low. I just want to know the fact so that I can adjust the intake amount. 1 Table spoon of this powder with plain milk kefir , banana, apple and Carson fish oil (this one doesn’t have fish smell at all) was my breakfast this morning, nice taste. I did it because turmeric is fat-soluble.UPDATE : 6/28/2016After trying couple of other brands, I will purchase this brand again.I just wanted to compare this and that. One of other has a bit fish smell(I felt like the packaging people were handling fish before handling turmeric)and the other one has chemical smell (I guess it’s from plastic package bag)Here is Amazon, some turmerics are real high quality and some are really not good.This brand is one of the good ones. Beautiful golden yellow tumeric color, strong oromatic flavor no additives or fillers etc. I did the tumeric test – put small amount of tumeric in glass of water without stirring for approx. 20 mins. If it settles at the bottom, it’s pure, if not it’s adulterated. I use 1/8 teaspoon twice daily for arthritis. I wish it came in 8 oz package as well, as 16 oz is a bit much for me. It can also be use for cooking. I would definitely recommend it.

Wanted something without lead in it.
Later found out from the FDA, via phone call, noted lead is being put into some Turmeric . The claim on this product, as with many other brands, of “tested for Purity” doesn’t mean tested for lead but does indicate some producers are finagling. Doesn’t mean this particular Turmeric powder has lead but I’m thinking of testing any turmeric for lead in the future.I’d like to see more turmeric products advertising tested for lead specifically but, then, I’d still test it.Many products online say organic and aren’t as per discussing with the FDA so who knows about “purity” or “tested” either? Sigh.Haven’t tried for pain relief yet. Seems fresh. Tastes good.

I was able to remake the secret recipe:1 tbsp (or to taste) turmeric1 tbsp (or to taste) coconut oil2/3 cup almond or coconut milk (unsweetened)1 tbsp (or to taste) honey or agave syrupSteam like a latte.top with fresh ground pepper (i was told pepper enhances the benefit of turmeric).I actually make it without all the sweeteners but it’s all to taste.Great to sip at night.

quality control
I have bought this a least three times in the past and been happy with it. I recently bought this turmeric and it was much darker that the last turmeric I got from them. Seemed denser and I don’t think it tastes the same. I take this for health and I can’t say one way or the other whether its the same health wise but it makes me question the quality of this brand

I love this product
I love this product. I’m not a medical professional but there’s a medical study floating around about how turmeric acts like a dose of prozac. For it to synthesise in your body you have to take it with fat and black pepper, so I make a tea from 1 tsp of powder, milk or milk substitute, a little coconut oil, a dash a pepper and a generous amount of honey… it tastes very medicinal, and yes, my toothbrush bristles are dyed neon yellow, butttttttt my mood is great.

Very fragrant, strong earthy flavor. I’m told you shouldn’t judge the quality of turmeric root based on color, but still, the color is beautiful. Unfortunately the bag does not reseal, so you will need to make other arrangements for storage.

Tastes good in lattes.
Good stuff. I’ve been making turmeric lattes with this (with coconut milk, coconut oil, and ginger root), and they taste great. Also using in homemade dog food and dog treats for my little guy undergoing cancer treatment. I hope it’s helping. He’s active and playful despite chemotherapy. Oh–I did try this turmeric in a creamy zucchini soup, and it tasted shockingly bad. Maybe I overdid it, or it was simply the wrong spice choice. Pleased with the lattes though.

This is the best deal I have found on organic raw turmeric powder. Besides being organic, it is non-GMO, which are the two most important characteristics that I look for in the food I buy. I fill my own capsules and take about 500 mg. a day of this antioxidant for digestive and joint functions. Also, in the powder form, I can add turmeric to my juice or smoothie.

The tumeric is fantastic and I love the high percentage of curcumin. Only feedback I’d like to give to Terrasoul Superfoods is that it’s a bit difficult to reclose the ziplock style package. Please improve the way u can close it as sometimes it closes and sometimes it’s a pain in the butt to close it properly. A minor complaint for a great product that increases the health benefits of all so still receives a 5 ⭐️ review from me.

This is a great buy. It’s a big bag so it will last a long time and the packaging that it comes in is fine! You just flick the top of the bag to clean out the seams and it will seal up no problems! It just gets some powder stuck in there before it’s opened. I hope to purchase the Acai powder next!

Great Packaging- fresh product
This product arrived in a ziplock type bag that is very convenient. It was fresh and a cost effective way to buy turmeric. To buy at the regular grocery stores you get a little 2 ounce bottle for the same price as this big bag. I look at as a refill bag for my spice cabinet. I researched the benefits of turmeric and swallowing capsules of it doesn’t give the same benefits. It’s best to also include a healthy fat with this spice. I like avocado oil to cook with, they pair well together!

Golden Paste for my dog
I bought this for my dog to help with his weak front paw that he sprained a couple months ago but is taking a while to heal. Instead of using NSAIDs with harmful side effects l, I use this by making golden paste. I mix it up with some beef bone broth and he gulps it up. Excellent quality!! Always use organic when it comes to herbs and spices.

Ya pretty good. I looked into the company to see where they get the product and how they harvest it and they do everything right. There’s also no worrisome lawsuits against them regarding metal content (if you don’t know, low quality brands could have metal in it). So I bought it. I got this brand because they include a high dose of curcumin. I use it in smoothies with a dash of black pepper since apparently that combo increases absorption of the turmeric.Like all turmeric (at least to me) it tastes pretty bad. Adding too much can ruin the smoothie. Adding the amount it says on the package was fine though.No idea anything about pain relief

Rich color, aromatic, flavorful, water tested… PURE
For those debating on the quality of this product, I can tell you first hand as someone who has studied food and health and nutrition for a decade and a half, endurance athlete, as well as a non-biased regular user of turmeric, Terrasoul brand turmeric is PURE. First, it is very aromatic and second … lots of flavor. Lastly, see my photos of my water test with 1/2t of their turmeric in 5oz of room temp water after 20min. Almost zero floating on top, turmeric clumped at the bottom and the water is nearly clear. Add a good pinch of ground black pepper per 1/2t of this goodness and increase bioavailability of the medicinal qualities by upwards of 4000% (no that’s not a typo). Peace and health… and go vegan already.

Turmeric – What else can I say
I am a healthy person over all. I add several things to my daily routine. Turmeric is one of them. One thing I can tell you is having added turmeric to my diet has decreased recovery time of stiffness after a hard days work or other physical activity. I was using a different brand before, but they went out of business I guess. I picked up this brand to replace and the price is about the same and the quality seems to be the same too. So, not being an expert here, this brand is just fine for me.

Bought for skin bleeching
What a mess!!! Fair warning! the orange powder gets everywhere and what it touches, it stains. I have found that rubbing alcohol gets it off of which porcelain if caught early. But!!!! If you mix the powder with the juice of a lemon and some melted cocoanut oil, and use a paint or makeup brush to apply to darkened armpits then cover with plastic wrap and leave on for about 30 minutes, mine were back to their original color after just 3 sessions. Amazing! I have not tried it on my face for dark splotches yet.

Even though I bought the wrong product (actually needed cur-cumin 95%) to help fight cancer…but that was my fault. Tumeric has less then 5% of curcumin FYI…but my fault for the wrong research. Otherwise a great cooking powder spice! I can only give 4 stars though. Product came home, I pulled it out of the box and I guess there was quite a bit of tumeric above the seal line from the factory so it fell all over my floor! Very frustrating as this stuff does not come out of clothing…So werar your BBQ vest! The bag was still sealed…just the lip had a lot of tumeric inside it. Cheers

Magic powder for adult acne sufferers
Can’t get enough of turmeric- I make my own capsules and take 3x per day to help with adult acne and notice a huge difference when I miss them; really keep inflamatron and redness at bay. I also use this in face masks every day and it is the number one topical product that has actually made a big difference in bringing down and healing cysts. I swear. This stuff is magic powder. Mix it with whole fat yogurt, chick pea powder, and some nutmeg and you won’t even be left with a yellow tinge. Turmeric and honey paste for spot treatment is also fantastic. The top of the bag could seal a little more securely but for the quality and the price I’m not complaining.

I take every day with pepper sprinkled on my coffee. I do see a bit of improvement in my energy and feel less tired. I am 76 years old and had breast cancer and both breasts removed and implants. This is a much more cost effective way to keep this magical powder on hand. I put it in my smoothies and was going through those small jars way too often. I’ve been putting this bulk powder in a recycled jelly jar that sits perfectly in my spice drawer. The packaging on this stuff is not stellar, but that’s the ONLY bad thing about it. (The zipper lock does not stay closed no matter how hard you try) It has a wonderful aroma and adds that extra something to smoothies and the like. Love this stuff!

I have t had any side affects, it takes away my headaches and stomach pains.
The packaging was neat and secure. True to taste and it was recommended by my holistic doctor. I use a teaspoon in 8 ounces of water to drink before bed. I also put it in my smoothie with some ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon and bananas. 😋 The texture comes out so creamy and gives a golden color! Love it. I have chronic pain, fatigue, and many other symptoms. My pain is pretty deep and persistent, so turmeric by itself is never enough. However, eating it every day has been super helpful for many of my symptoms. I use this turmeric in my homemade crock pot meals and I add it to my tea every day. It’s perfectly orange and beautiful. This bag lasts a long time too, even though I use it every day.

tested for heavy metals
I bought this after contacting Terrasoul about whether they test for heavy metals. They stated that they do andprovided all the info on their testing requirements. I was satisfied with that and also with the product.Many people don’t realize that even though a product can be organic, it can still have lead, cadmium, etc. becausethe company isn’t required to test the soil or air. The just have to follow certain procedures to grow and harvest.I would not buy Ginger or Turmeric or Ashwagandha without them being tested thoroughly.

Excellent product..
I was very sckeptical to buy cos of certain reviews but I have bought terrasoul ashwagandha pwd before so finally decided to try. I am from India and we use tumeric on a daily basis for cooking and medicinal purpose and I do tumeric tea and other drinks is with it too. Smell is a good indicator and the tumeric pwd smells like how it should be. I am very happy with the smell,colour and flavour. Will recommend it.

Nice to have in bulk bag
Great value and love the ease of use! I add to various dishes, and got into making turmeric latte’s for awhile as well – and this works fine in every recipe. I liked being able to order in bulk size — but sometimes the zip top bag just doesn’t want to close quite right, but that’s no deal breaker.

Great Product for Cooking, Smoothies, and Pain Relief
I love the quality of this product – that it is organic, non-gmo, and gluten free. I use it in many recipes as I am partial to Indian spices and vegan curries, and I also use it in smoothies.A plus for me is that incorporating it into my diet has been really helpful in providing pain relief from arthritis I have in my hands.

I use turmeric all of the time and if you do as well, then you should probably spend a little more and get this huge frickin’ bag! It’s only slightly more than turmeric you get at the grocery store and it will last you forever. I use it daily in either tofu scrambles, as a spice for entrees, or making golden milk lattes, and it doesn’t even look like I’ve gone through any of it. If you’re making your own turmeric supplements, the amount that comes in the bag would be good for that also. The quality is also great, so no complaints!

Customer For Life
We used to take turmeric extract capsules. I noticed no effects. This whole turmeric powder with higher curcumin showed benefit for pain. Instead of encapsulating it, we add: 1/8 to 1/2 tspoon turmeric powder, few shakes of black pepper & 1 tspoon to 1 tablespoon of raw, cold pressed, organic coconut oil in a coffee mug then cover with boiling water. Some family members add a speck of raw honey to sweeten. It helps arthritic pain better than anything else I’ve tried. Customer for life.

Works for inflammation!
Bought this to make golden milk, which is just a turmeric paste mixed with soymilk and date paste, creating a sweet creamy golden milk. I use it for inflammation in my wrist and it really does help! I’ve also started adding it to my dogs food because it’s such a healthy addition to our diet. This one has a nice bright color and tastes great, not too strong. I love how it’s organic and it was at a great price.

Packaging needs a simple tweak
LOVE the product, LOVE the company, but have a tiny suggestion. Before shipping fine powdered product, zip the closure closed. When you don’t close the zip top prior to shipping, fine powder gets stuck in the tracks and then I can’t close it. Will keep purchasing, but will have to repackage.

actually bought this for my dog, to try and help with an ongoing bowel inflamation problem…I’m sprinkling a half teaspoon on the pumpkin whe gets with her dinner (what we do for our furry family members!!!) she loves the pumpkin, and I am hoping she’ll continue to eat it, though we’re seeing signs that she’s not too fond of the taste…Not a reflection on the product at all.

Making Golden Paste for my Dogs and Self
I was super skeptical buying this brand. I have recently had some organic turmeric that was green from some other private label source. The color of this Turmeric is perfect! Perfect smell! Says at least 5% curcumin so that is a huge plus as that is why I am taking this. This is better than the cheaper brands. Will buy again. Completly agree on the packaging isn’t the best. But if the price stays the same with this packaging I will buy again.

Turmeric powder has so many benefits there really is no reason not to have it in your pantry. You can put it in pretty much any food to help with a number of healthy issues, and you can even use it on your skin to correct a number of problems that over the counter medicines won’t help with. I like that this is organic and raw, which gives me even more piece of mind mixing this in with my daily diet. Be careful though, turmeric powder will stain everything. Don’t get in on your clothes or carpet or you will be sorry.
